An undergraduate degree in chemistry at the University of Alabama was followed by a degree in dentistry from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. A three-year stint in the Army, mostly in Germany, allowed Dr. Bachmann to serve his country reaching the rank of Major before being honorably discharged. Dr. Bachmann practiced as a general practitioner seven additional years; this time as a civilian in the Decatur/Hartselle area. Dr. Bachmann was accepted as an orthodontic resident in 1982. Graduating in 1984, he moved back to the North Alabama area to practice his specialty in orthodontics. Dr. Bachmann moved to his present office in the Huntsville/Madison/Monrovia area in August 2005.
Because he feels it is important to be educated and apprised of any new procedures or techniques available to make the patients’ treatment more effective and comfortable, Dr. Bachmann meets and exceeds the number of hours required for continuing education.
Dr. Bachmann is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists and the Alabama Dental Association, serving as the secretary and treasurer of the 8th District before returning to do his orthodontic residency.
